Importing Event Data

Diabetes Logbook X supports the import of data from other sources. The import process will inspect a selected file and present the extracted event data for inspection before continuing to add the new events to the logbook.

Supported formats

If you have existing data you can import it into Diabetes Logbook X.

The currently support formats are:

Selecting the data file

Import-Main View-sm
How the data is imported depends very much on what produced the data file.

Data source: select who produced the data file/the file format.

Glucose in units: if the format doesn't specify the units, these will be used. This is preset from User Settings.

Default insulins: if the name of the insulin is not recorded in the data file, we can use the default insulins from User Settings.

Use Categories: Diabetes Logbook X will set the time period based on an event's time and the times in User Settings. But we can set the Event Name to the event's Category data if the data file format supports this.

Dates in format: what is the date format that the data file uses?

Import events: We can import all events in the data file or only those that are later than the last imported event from the previous import.

Cancel: stop the import process.

Select file & Inspect Data: once the settings above are configured correctly, click this button to select the data file and start its inspection.

Confirming the extracted events

Import-Confirm View-sm

After the data has been inspected the above view is displayed and you will be able to review the events and confirm, or not, its inclusion into the logbook.

Cancel the Import: stops the import process.

Import Data: confirms that the events should be added to the logbook. A message will be displayed when the import process in completed.

Any events that could not be properly processed with be listed in an Error Log window, which can be closed once you have finished checking the it or manually adding the event to the logbook.
